The final show of 2018 got off to an insane start as the fight 16 months in the making tore the house down. Craig Kollins and Tu Byt both gave absolutely everything in a battle between master and apprentice. Much to everyone’s surprise, Tu Byt put on the performance of a lifetime and held his own against the war machine for the majority of the match.
As Kollins took control of the battle, his anger got the better of him and he didn’t seem in any hurry to end the match. Rick Markus (his partner in a tag title match later that night) came out and demanded that Kollins stop drawing it out and finish it. Kollins told Markus to mind his business, but was caught off guard by a Tu Byt flurry of offence for the 1, 2, 3.
Tu Byt was once again the Kollins slayer!
The war machine was yet again livid, and angrier than ever. And he aimed all his anger at Rick Markus, as the partners for the night ended up fighting yet again!
Next up was another angry man as Andre Dekker issued an unsanctioned “open challenge”
The lights went out, there was a trademark scream, and Felony returned!
After the living dead girl made her usual creepy entrance, she squared up to Dekker. Andre looked shocked yet confident that he could take the much smaller Felony out. But then Barricade appeared! Barricade making his return to Morecambe for the first time since Andre Dekker attacked him with a glass bottle and he was out for blood.
Dekker put up a fight, but karma was indeed a b*** for him as Barricade and Felony lay waste to their former partner.
Up next was the first title match of the night. A 4 way elimination match for the women’s championship between champion Alexxis Falcon, and challengers Jami Sparx, Jennie B and Lucy Sky.
The Student Union turned out to be highly influential in this match as their interference led to the eliminations of Jennie B and Jami Sparx.
That was where their interference ended however, as Jennie B, Jackie B and Jami Sparx returned and attacked the duo, clearing them from ringside!
Lucy Sky was left alone, and Alexxis was too much for her as the champion retained her title in a 4 way for the second year running.
The first half came to an end with a feud reignited between Magnificent Matthew Brooks and the man fka Sexy Kev, Kev Lloyd.
Brooks was once again wowing the audience with his entrance song, but he was attacked from behind by Kev, who immediately went to take Brooks out before the match had started.
The history between these two men showed, as they both clearly knew each other very well. But the new mma-based offence of Lloyd caught Brooks off guard and Kev was the victor.
Afterwards, Kev took to the mic to express his lack of surprise that Shaun Vasey hadn’t taken him up on the offer to watch him wrestle. At that moment we heard music that hadn’t been heard in Morecambe for years, as THE CREEPER returned!
Kev looked like he didn’t know what to do as the creeper made his way to the ring and took Kev out with a choke bomb that nearly sent him through the floor!
The second half started with our second 4 way title match of the evening. The new tag champions Jynkz and King Grayson defending against the dangerous and implosive tandem of Craig Kollins and Rick Markus, The Student Union (without Lucy Sky) and the team of Fantastic Matt Fox and Mark Meltzer – who arrived dressed as the Legion of doom!
Unlike the women’s match, this wasn’t elimination rules, and the first team to score a pinfall or submission would leave as champions. As the match went on, Rick Markus and Craig Kollins’ bad blood boiled over yet again as they ended up fighting each other instead of their opponents. Jynkz got so angry with Grayson’s cheating antics that he left his partner alone, and Meltzer and Fox hit a doomsday device for the victory as Meltzer scored his first victory, and “Five Star Fantasticness” became NEW Alpha Omega tag team champions!
The next match was another ending to a long and personal feud as Robert Wishart and Crater finally went one on one.
The match couldn’t get started straight away as Wishart’s security guard for the night, Big Joe, refused to let Crater get his hands on his nemesis.
This turned out to be a minor speedbump for the monster as he quickly destroyed Wishart’s last line of defence!
The match itself was more of a violent beat down as a year’s worth of anger built up inside Crater, and the monster laid waste to his former partner.
Unfortunately, one chokeslam wasn’t enough, two wasn’t enough, and Crater went to keep on assaulting Wishart, but the referee stepped in to stop him, calling an end to the match. Crater wasn’t keen on this decision, and chokeslammed the referee too!
The night’s insane events weren’t over. As after the world famous Morecambe raffle, King Grayson took to the microphone to run anyone and everyone down.
Just as it seemed that everyone was getting sick of his words, Crater returned!
Crater had clearly heard enough of Grayson’s talking and hit the former leader of the Referendum with a devastating chokeslam.
The final main event of the year saw new champion BB defend his title against fan favourites E-Bomb and Ryan Hunter in a three way elimination match.
When all three were in the ring, Andre Dekker came out again and said he’d had enough of the “conspiracy” against him. He deserved to be champion and was willing to risk it all. He demanded he be added to the title match, and if he didn’t become champion, he would quit!
All three competitors agreed and we had out third 4 way title match of the night!
It was a fitting end to the night as everyone gave everything they had.
Unfortunately for Dekker, the effects of the beatdown from HellBound earlier in the night saw him eliminated by Ryan Hunter first!
And just like that, Andre Dekker is gone from Alpha Omega!!!
BB’s underhanded tactics came into play next as he eliminated former champion Ryan Hunter. This left BB and E-Bomb as the final two in the match.
With the crowd firmly behind the smallest man on the AOWUK roster, BB turned extra violent, and attempted to end E-Bomb’s career by taking out all of his limbs.
With brutal submission holds, BB attacked E-Bomb’s legs and arms, but E-Bomb refused to submit.
BB, clearly satisfied that he’d permanently disabled his opponent, but livid that he couldn’t get a submission victory, took out his frustration on the referee and decided to leave.
As he went to leave, Ryan Hunter blocked his exit. BB tried the fire exit instead, but Craig Kollins stopped his escape there. Finally BB tried to exit through the ramp but his passage was blocked by Alpha Male Evil lewis (who returned after BB attacked him with a chair at Golden Chance). Lewis punched the champion square in the face, and – along with Kollins and Hunter – threw BB back in the ring.
At this moment, the crowd were electric and brought newfound fire to E-Bomb. And the smallest man on the roster took BB’s mask off, and hit him with his finisher for the pinfall victory! E-Bomb was champion!
And that emotional end to the night was a fitting way to end the year.
We want to thank our fans for their continued support over the past year and wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year.by
