Golden Chance 2018 was possibly the most eventful show in the history of Morecambe Wrestling.
The night kicked off with Women’s champion Jennie B being officially coronated as “Miss Morecambe” (complete with tiara flowers and sash) by her hype man Jackie B.
This coronation was cut short by the challengers for her title, Alexxis Falcon and Jami Sparx, who personally ejected Jackie B from ringside before their title match began!
Jennie going alone for the first time found it hard to fight off both challengers and eventually would see her reign as champion come to an end at the hands of the woman she defeated, as Alexxis Falcon became the first ever two-time women’s champion!
As if starting with one title match wasn’t enough, next up was the tag team championship match!
The champions Big Sexxxy may not be seeing eye to eye right now, but they were quietly confident as their challenger Jynkz – who had to find himself a partner to team with – has proven he doesn’t trust any of the roster on more than one occasion.
As Kev and Shaun were waiting for their opponents, Jynkz made his entrance and took to the mic.
Jynkz mentioned that since he returned to action, he had tried doing things his way and had been unable to gain a championship. So instead of looking for someone he trusts, he looked for someone who knows how to win championships…
King Ryan Grayson was back.
The fans were shocked, Big Sexxxy were shocked, everyone was shocked. And that shock (combined with underhanded tactics from the former AOW champion) earned the unlikely duo a huge shock win!
Jynkz had sold his soul for championship gold and it worked.
Kev was clearly upset with Horn-ee Shaun-ee for losing the match, and took to the mic himself. Kev ran down Shaun verbally, berating him and putting across how Kev was champion all over the country, and Shaun was a ‘nobody’. Kev stated “doesn’t matter if you dress in a suit and tie, like an undead zombie, or whatever this is, you’re a loser”. And Shaun left defeated and deflated.
Announcer ethan Edwards read the room and said himself after such a shocking turn of events we could really use a popular wrestler to come out… And with that, “Public enemy #1” Robert Wishart made his entrance.
Wishart wasted no time reminding fans why they hate him so much and just as everyone seemed to have reached their peak of hatred, Magnificent Matthew Brooks sang his way to the ring (he even had fans singing along!).
As both athletes tried to out perform each other, and Wishart’s cheating was gaining results, CRATER appeared!
Wishart did what anyone would expect him to do in this situation, he ran. And Brooks was awarded a return victory via countout.
The Golden Chance Rumble was up next. With the winner earning the Golden Chance trophy, entitling them to a title shot at any time of their choosing.
The first entrant was a new face to Morecambe fans, the man self proclaimed as Scotland’s sexiest wrestler, Jonathan Richards.
As Richards was expressing why the Morecambe fans were so lucky to be seeing him in person, entrant #2, Mark Meltzer made his Big Boss Man themed entrance, and started beating Richards with a nightstick!
Entrant #3 was Jack from the Student Union, and he assisted Richards with an attack on Meltzer, before entrant #4 emerged. It was familiar music to many fans, but no one expected John Cena to actually be in Morecambe? It was in fact Tu Byt dressed as John Cena?! With Meltzer encouraging the two bit gangster and new member of the Cenation on, Tu Byt executed Cena’s signature moves such as the Attitude Adjustment and the five knuckle shuffle!
With entrants #5 and #6 (The Student Union’s Freddy, and Fantastic Matt Fox respectively) joining the fray, the ring was devolving into chaos. And when the music didn’t start for entrant #7, Announcer Ethan Edwards seized his opportunity to “get Ethan in” and proceeded to prepare himself to enter the rumble! Until Andre Dekker’s music played and he made his entrance. Dekker even attacked Ethan on his way to the ring. Soon followed by #8, Matthew Brooks.
The eight men in the ring were all doing their best to eliminate each other, as we welcomed entrant #9, Craig Kollins.
Kollins wasted no time eliminating “the Kollins slayer” Tu Byt, along with Richards, Jack, Freddy, Matt Fox, Mark Meltzer AND Matthew Brooks. But the man he was after, Andre Dekker, slid out the ring and escaped – With Kollins in hot pursuit.
In a rare and strange sight in a rumble, the ring was left empty. And entrant #10 Robert Wishart made his way to the ring! Gloating to everyone how he had the ring all to himself, he even got comfortable lying across the top ropes. Then came entrant #11… CRATER.
Crater wasted no time in throwing Wishart around the ring like a ragdoll and throwing him clean over the top and eliminating him from the rumble. Entrant #12 was Jackie B, but he was in no rush to get back into the ring with Crater (and who could blame him). When entrant #13, King Grayson made his way to the ring, Dekker returned and attacked Crater from behind. At this moment, Grayson, Jackie B and even Wishart all teamed up to tip the monster out of the ring!
Crater was not happy with this turn of events, and for the second time he chased after Wishart, leaving Grayson Jackie B and Dekker as the legal men in the match before entrant #14 Rick Markus emerged. As Markus took the action to everybody, Craig Kollins returned, and immediately eliminated Dekker from the rumble, before being eliminated himself by Rick Markus! Kollins was LIVID with his fellow Barrovian for costing him his chance at the trophy, but had no time to dwell on it as Dekker attacked him once again and the two fought to the back.
Entrant #15 was shocking and downright frightening as Grayson’s loyal jester Jay Jay returned to Morecambe! No one was happier than Grayson himself, who couldn’t wait to get the jester to kneel to him again. But instead, Jay Jay kicked the King in his private parts!
Jester removed his mask to reveal Mark Meltzer! And he invited Ethan Edwards into the ring to help him eliminate Grayson from the rumble… Ethan was IN! And Grayson was left licking his wounds on the entrance ramp.
#16 was the man who until earlier that night was a fan favourite, Kev Lloyd, who paid little to no attention to the boos from the audience as he focussed on winning the rumble. And entrant #17 was the new tag team champion Jynkz. Who didn’t get an opportunity to enter straight away as his new partner Grayson tried to convince him to switch places so Grayson could get revenge on Meltzer and Edwards, but Jynkz was having none of it. This distraction didn’t help as Jynkz was eliminated within seconds.
As the new tag champions were tearing into each other on the ramp, the countdown began for entrant #18, Former Alpha Male, STALLION. Stallion wasted no time continuing where he left off by knocking Grayson on his behind on the way to the ring.
The no longer Sexy Kev was on a roll having thrown Ethan Edwards and Jynkz from the match, and he continued with “The Jester” Mark Meltzer and Rick Markus as entrant #19 E-Bomb made his entrance.
The final entrant was the masked menace BB, who made a beeline for E-Bomb. This feud has gotten personal but didn’t stop E-Bomb from eliminating Kev shortly after the former tag champ eliminated the former Alpha Male Stallion. Leaving E-Bomb and BB as the final two in the match!
The crowd were firmly behind E-Bomb as both men went over the top and tumbling to the outside.
When the officials made their way around to the side of the ring E-Bomb and BB went out of, BB still had one foot off the floor.
Much to the ire of the fans, the creepy masked man BB is now the holder of the golden chance trophy!
After BB headed backstage, Alpha Male Evil Lewis came out and said that he felt E-Bomb was unlucky in that finish, so he made a match at Remember Remember. EBOMB v BB for the GC TROPHY! As the crowd were loving this announcement, BB appeared from behind and hit Lewis with a chair!
The No DQ match between Craig Kollins and Andre Dekker was next. And it was brutal. Both men beat each other to a pulp, holding nothing back as they tried to end each other’s career.
In the end, Kollins showed why he’s so feared as he emerged victorious. But he wasn’t done, taking to the mic and called out Rick Markus for eliminating him from the rumble and saying that he was next!
During the Morecambe Raffle, Tu Byt came out and challenged Craig Kollins to a match at Remember Remember. Which no-one could quite believe. Kollins immediately answered, accepting the challenge, and telling his protege that he better be ready for war.
And the main event was the much anticipated match for the AOW championship as Zack Gibson challenged Ryan Hunter for his title.
This was an absolute war with both men doing everything they could to leave as champion, but neither was willing to give up. At one point in the melee senior referee Craig Hermit ended up going through the announcers table!
In the end, Ryan Hunter pulled of yet another performance of a lifetime, and the huge upset, to retain his championship. But Gibson was in no mood for sportsmanship and laid out the champion on his way out.
Unfortunately this presented a prime opportunity as BB re-emerged with the Golden Chance trophy.
With everyone in the crowd screaming NO, BB assaulted Ryan with a steel chair, cashed in the Golden Chance trophy, and left as the NEW Alpha Omega Champion.
After the match, Ryan Hunter sat in the ring defeated. He grabbed a mic, but couldn’t say anything, and left.
After such a crazy and eventful night, who knows what Remember Remember has in store on November 24th!?!by
