Vendetta proved to be an appropriate name as many feuds got personal.
The show started with Silent Mark and Ethan Edwards giving the fans some unfortunate news. E-Bomb had arrived earlier that day ready for his match with Andre Dekker, but he hasn’t been seen since.
Dekker staggered to the ring – no doubt already drunk – saying this is essentially a forfeit so he should be given the victory.
Alpha Male Evil Lewis had other ideas, and he said he had found Dekker a suitable replacement to face him. And the War Machine Craig Kollins made his way to the ring.
The fight was brutal from the get go as a determined focussed Kollins went on a rampage against the former tag champion.
That was until BB made an appearance.
The masked menace appeared with an unconscious E-Bomb on stage, and he tried to remove E-Bomb’s mask!
Luckily, Craig Kollins charged the stage, scaring BB away!
Kollins helped E-Bomb to the back, but he turned his back on Dekker, who smashed a glass bottle over the head of the War Machine!
Kollins himself was in need of medical attention and needed assistance even standing, as Andre Dekker gloated over his cowardly act.
Following this was supposed to be the tag team championship match as Jynkz and Kollins were scheduled to challenge Big Sexxxy for the belts.
With Kollins out of action, Jynkz agreed to continue solo and go for the belts by himself.
Jynkz put up one hell of a fight, but his lack of trust in the locker room would be his undoing, as he didn’t have enough in him to capitalise on a downed Sexy Kev, and as both he and Jynkz were on the floor, David Alistair ran out and tagged himself in, unofficially naming himself Jynkz’s partner!
This partnership was short lived however as Alistair felt a Hornee Shaunee big boot and was immediately pinned!
After the match, Shaunee told Jynkz that if he can find a partner he can trust, they’ll give him a well earned rematch at Golden Chance.
Next up was a grudge match with massive implications.
Rick Markus v both members of Mr Williams’ Student Union in a handicap match.
If Markus could pull off the win here, he would finally get Williams one on one in any match of Markus’ choosing!
The Student Union tried their best to ensure that match wasn’t going to happen, but nothing was stopping Rick Markus, and he picked up a huge victory.
Markus announced that now he’s defeated the student union, he will take Williams out for good… in a loser leaves Morecambe match!
Markus wasn’t given much time to prepare, because Mr Williams attacked him straight away and dared him into having their loser leaves match right now!
Markus didn’t need asking twice, and the fight was on.
Despite having just been through a hellacious battle against two men, Markus was on fire, and was giving Williams the beating of a lifetime.
That was when Freddy and Jack got involved. BUT, Lucy Sky – the often overlooked member of the Student Union – ordered the pair to leave with her, and leave Williams all alone!
Without the numbers game, Williams was soundly defeated and Markus got the pleasure of ending Williams’ Morecambe career for good!
Next we saw Jennie B defend her women’s championship against Jami Sparx and Alexxis Falcon in a triple threat match.
Jackie B – to the surprise of no one – continuously got involved on Jennie’s behalf, but it wasn’t enough as both Jami and Alexxis pinned Jennie simultaneously!
Now the problem was, WHO was the champion?
The referee discussed it with Evil Lewis and the decision was that the match must continue.
Jennie immediately shoved Alexxis into Jami – sending Sparx flying out the ring – and rolled up Falcon for the pin and the victory as Jackie kept Jami from re-entering the ring!
This highly unpopular result went down like a lead balloon as the crowd let the B’s know how they felt about this highly tainted “victory”
Following one highly unpopular wrestler, the fans welcomed Tu Byt back to Morecambe. And would you believe it, Matt Fox got a huge cheer!
Fox wasn’t interested in taking Tu Byt seriously and took every opportunity to turn the match into a joke. But Tu Byt took control of the match and looked on his way to a victory, until a familiar gong sounded through the venue!
The lights flickered, then we heard familiar music, and witnessed the entrance of the MELTZER-TAKER!
Tu Byt didn’t know what to make of this unbearably slow entrance of Mark Meltzer, DURING THE PREVIOUS MATCH, and was caught out by Matt Fox’s fantastic small package!
Tu Byt left in a terrible mood, as Meltzertaker continued his slow entrance. Matt Fox came over to greet his new “best friend” as Meltzertaker continued his slow entrance.
Finally in the ring, Meltzer’s opponent Jackie B made his way to the ring. But he definitely didn’t seem prepared for his opponent.
No matter what Jackie tried, nothing hurt Meltzer. The Meltzertaker went on to hit huge strikes, an “old school” arm wringer and axe handle… from the bottom rope, and even went for a tombstone piledriver!
This was when Jennie B grabbed Meltzer’s leg, tripping him so he fell backwards with Jackie on top of him. As Jennie held Meltzer’s leg, the ref counted 1, 2, 3.
Meltzer was heartbroken. He was convinced he had channelled the right legend to finally get a victory, but it wasn’t to be.
And the fans were ready to riot against Jennie and Jackie B.
Luckily, there was no riot. Instead Alpha Male Evil Lewis returned. He informed Jennie that she would be defending her title against Sparx and Falcon again at Golden Chance. But with Jackie B banned from ringside!
And, If Jackie showed up, Jennie would be stripped of her title, and Jackie would be FIRED!
This was not what the B’s wanted to hear, and they were not happy with the Alpha Male. Things looked to be turning ugly, until Cyanide returned!
The newly rechristened Crater made his way to the ring, and decimated Jackie B as Jennie ran scared.
Lewis offered Crater the chance to help him with the #MorecambeRaffle, but Crater just had one thing to say… “Wishart. Golden Chance. You’re dead.”
Things do not look good for Crater’s former partner at Golden Chance!
It was main event time as Morecambe champion Ryan Hunter defended his newly won Alpha Omega championship against former GPW champion Dylan Roberts.
In a fantastic return to classic main events of the past, these two went at it and gave each other everything they had in a back and forth instant classic.
In the end it was Ryan Hunter leaving victorious over a visibly upset Roberts.
And for the first time in a long time, the Morecambe fans got to celebrate a successful title defence with a man they love.
That didn’t last too long as Andre Dekker came out to interrupt the celebrations and announce that HE was winning the golden chance rumble, and he would immediately cash in on Hunter to become champion. Rick Markus took offence to this statement and announce it would be him who was walking out with the trophy. One by one the locker room emptied to join in the debate until inevitably chaos broke out.
Crater re-emerged, threw everyone over the top rope, asserting his dominance, before handing Ryan Hunter the championship belt and leaving.
This was clearly a signal to Hunter as to who he needs to be afraid of, and if Crater leaves with the golden chance trophy, Hunter’s days as champion are all but numbered!
But who will leave with the coveted Golden Chance trophy come September 29th?
