What a start to 2018!
Our new look announce team of Silent Mark and Ethan Oakeshott welcomed everyone to the new look Carleton Suite and guaranteed the same outstanding action we ended 2017 with, and it all kicked off with a match for the tag team championship!
The first ever tag team champions Big Sexxxy – themselves sporting a new look with the transformation of Mr Big Shaun Vasey into “Hornee Shaunee” – were the challengers against the current champions, Andre Dekker and Barricade, HellBound.
Despite hating each other, Dekker and Barricade are both dangerous individuals and it took all of Kev’s ability to survive their onslaught. When Hornee Shaunee entered the match he proved that the look and name might have changed, but he’s still the brutal 6’5” beast underneath as he took control for his team.
Shaunee and Kev proved that teamwork is the key to being a successful tag team as they defeated HellBound and became the first ever two time Alpha Omega tag team champions!
Following the match, Dekker – the man who had been pinned – blamed the loss on Barricade. Much to the fans delight, Barricade attacked the loudmouth Dekker, beating him all over the ring until Dekker ran away that is.
As Barricade took a moment to tell Mark and Ethan what he had planned the next time he saw Dekker, Andre re-appeared with a glass bottle in his hand, and smashed it over the back of Barricade’s head, knocking him out cold!
Dekker’s behaviour will not go unpunished we’re sure and we will update all our fans with Barricade’s condition when we hear from him.
The brutality of Dekker’s attack set the scene for our next match – the no countout grudge match between Craig Kollins and the masked man BB, Benji Baines.
As Kollins took control of the match, BB tried to run away. This didn’t work out well though, as Kollins battered him around the venue.
As Kollins looked to finish the match early, BB shoved the referee and kicked Kollins in his family jewels behind the ref’s back.
BB used his devious and deceitful tactics for as long as he could, but the War Machine fought back and looked ready to kill his nemesis. BB tried to low blow Kollins again, but Kollins grabbed his leg and hit a low blow of his own!
The referee had no choice but to disqualify Kollins, and BB wins again! Kollins argued with the referee as BB tried to leave. BUT, Alpha Male Evil Lewis appeared and announced that Craig will have one more shot at revenge as he and BB will go one on one once again, at War on the Shore, in a LAST MAN STANDING MATCH.
Rick Markus made an appearance to explain his recent injury and how long he expected to be out of action for. His personal enemy Mr Williams interrupted, came to the stage, and verbally berated Markus. The fans soon realised that this was a distraction, as two men ran in from the crowd and attacked Markus from behind!
Williams revealed that these two were Jack and Freddy, his “Student Union” and they were here to help him end Rick’s career! Williams made his way to the ring and attempted to use his “naughty chair” on Markus’s injured leg, but luckily EBomb and Mark Meltzer ran out as Williams et al made their escape.
Mark and Ethan welcomed Alpha Omega women’s champion Alexxis Falcon to join them for the #1 contender match, and asked her who she’d rather face at War on the Shore, friend Jami Sparx, or foe Jennie B?
Alexxis didn’t get much chance to answer as she was interrupted by the “IT couple of Alpha Omega” Jennie and Jackie B!
This match was just as heated as you’d expect, and with Jackie B constantly interfering, it was sometimes more like a handicap match.
As Jackie was distracting the ref, Alexxis got up from the timekeeper’s position and slapped him hard across the face. Unfortunately, the referee was distracted dealing with this, and Jennie saw an opportunity. She sprayed Sparx in the face with Jackie’s hairspray to aid her in her win.
Afterwards, Alexxis attempted to help Jami up, but Sparx was angry with Alexxis for getting involved, and refused her help.
After all that drama and discourse, Morecambe enemy #1 Robert Wishart made his first appearance in front of the Alpha fans since his betrayal of Cyanide.
Wishart slated the fans, slated his opponent Ryan Hunter, and slated his former tag team partner Cyanide. At this point he played a video of our cameraman trying to get an update from Cyanide himself, with no luck. Wishart says that he was willing to face Cyanide but “The Monster” is afraid.
Luckily his tirade was cut short by Golden Chance trophy holder Ryan Hunter – the man who willingly put his valuable trophy on the line against Wishart to test his rapidly improving ability – and the match was on.
Both men proved their skill in this back and forth match that kept the fans on the edge of their seats throughout, and either man could have taken the victory at multiple points.
But in the end, the hear of Hunter, back by the rowdy Morecambe fans won out and he successfully retained the GC trophy to end the first half.
Just before the interval, the crowd were introduced to the special #MorecambeRaffle salesman of the evening, Ravie Davie!
As Davie was spending the interval selling raffle tickets and getting to know the Morecambe fans, David Alistair decided that was a good time to grab a mic and demand the love he feels he deserves.
Ravie Davie stopped selling tickets for a moment, entered the ring, hit Alistair with a stunner, and immediately went back to selling raffle tickets!
The second half started with the War on the Shore match.
6 man, elimination rules, the last man standing earns a title shot at whoever is the champion at War on the Shore on April 7th.
Out first was Mr Williams. But he stated that running away from EBomb and Meltzer earlier he had injured himself and was giving his spot in the match to a member of his Student Union. (Freddy and Jack participated in a game of rock paper scissors to decide who would wrestle – Jack – and Freddy would stand at ringside)
Out next was “five star” Mark Meltzer, who was as excited as ever to be in front of the Morecambe faithful. But not that excited to see the Student Union again after they beat down his friend Rick Markus.
Third was Fantastic Matt Fox, hoping to build on the momentum he got with his victory over Sexy Kev in December utilising his Fantastic Small Package.
Making his return to Morecambe wrestling after five years was the former XWA flyweight and best in the north west champion, Jynkz. And what a welcome he received from the fans!
Fifth was the two bit gangster himself, TuByt. Who, despite having a terrible win/loss record, won’t let anyone forget his famous debut victory over Craig Kollins. Tu Byt is anything but popular with the fans, unless receiving shouts of “pull your pants up” makes you popular?!
Finally making his entrance was EBomb, yet again receiving a monsterous ovation from the Alpha Omega audience.
The match started with TuByt mouthing off at everyone, and the unlikely alliance of Mark Meltzer and Matt Fox teamed up to put him in his place, much to the delight of the crowd.
Tu Byt’s embarassment was compounded when Matt Fox pulled down Tu Byt’s baggy pants and rolled him up with a Fantastic small package to eliminate the youngster from the match.
Fox celebrated starting 2018 with another pinfall victory and ran laps around the ring to hi five fans, but once he got back in the ring he was distracted by Freddy so Jack could roll him up from behind to eliminate Fox from the match.
Fox sought consolation from the crowd as the match continued. Freddy and Jack working like a two man tandem despite only one of them being in the match itself, and this teamwork (aka cheating) helped Jack to eliminate Mark Meltzer too!
E-Bomb and Jack went hold for hold but when Freddy tried to get involved again, he was taken out by Jynkz, and EBomb eliminated Jack from the match, much to the delight of the crowd.
The delight dimmed when they realised that Jynkz and EBomb would have to go toe to toe to earn a title shot.
The two proved what a title opportunity means to them as they exchanged some great chain wrestling and EBomb utilised his superior cardio and looked like he was exposing Jynkz’s ring rust, until the veteran saw an opportunity and took it.
As EBomb went over for a victory roll, Jynkz dropped down bringing all his larger frame on EBomb’s shoulders to pin him and win the match.
Following the match EBomb and Jynkz showed each other respect as Jynkz looks forward to a title opportunity at War on the Shore.
Silent Mark and Ethan made their way to the ring to draw the #MorecambeRaffle and they asked Jynkz if he’d rather Grayson wins so he can get a shot at Grayson AND the title? Before the #1 contender could reply… King Grayson’s music interrupts.
Grayson and his loyal Jester JJ entered the ring, completely blanking Jynkz as Grayson takes to the mic.
Grayson said that he had some unfinished business. He claimed that JJ wasn’t there for him at Fightmare. And that he was the victim of a sneak attack from Girvan because JJ wasn’t there. Grayson low blowed the jester before screaming in his face “JJ. You’re fired.”
Grayson hit the royal decree on Jester, and then got in Jynkz’s face and demanded the ring be “cleared of all garbage” before his title match.
King Grayson couldn’t have chosen a worse time to leave himself alone, as his opponent Lewis Girvan brought former tag title partner Bobby Roberts with him for his title match!
Throughtout the match Girvan outwrestled Grayson, with Grayson using his power moves and sly tactics to keep his regin alive.
As Grayson gained control of the match, he was knocked almost clean out by a sick superkick. Girvan covered him, 1… 2… 3… NO? It turns out Grayson’s foot was on the rope!
As Girvan thought he had just become champion, Bobby Roberts attempted to tell him that it wasn’t over, this was all the distraction Grayson needed as the champion took full advantage to hit the Royal Decree and successfully defend the championship.
After the match, Bobby checked on Girvan as Grayson tried to leave. Grayson took a moment to long to gloat, and Jynkz appeared on stage, throwing Grayson back in the ring where Girvan and Bobby were waiting!
Girvan and Jynkz hit Grayson with the former Referedum Finisher “The Bannockburn Buster” and Bobby buried his former leader under the Scottish flag as Jynkz raised the belt to end the night.
Our next show is War on the Shore on April 7th.
Confirmed for WOTS so far is the Alpha Omega title match between King Ryan Grayson and Jynkz, the Women’s title match between Alexxis Falcon and Jennie B, and the Last man standing match between Craig Kollins and Benji Baines. With much more to come, War on the Shore looks likely to live up to it’s name!by
