In 2014, The Edinburgh Elite Ryan Grayson decided to start his own faction, known as The Referendum.
This faction would bring in talent from Scotland who felt they weren’t getting a fair shot at wrestling in England, and bring them to Morecambe where they could take their frustrations out on English fan favourites.
This was a very devious plan by Grayson, which gave him an endless supply of talented wrestlers who could do his dirty work for him, while he rose up the ranks and was involved in multiple high profile matches.
Among the many high profile names Grayson brought in to be part of The Referendum were Women’s champion Viper and Tag champions Bobby Roberts & Lewis Girvan.
After Grayson’s master plan was revealed and he disposed of The Referendum to become Alpha Omega Champion, this created a long list of angry wrestlers who wanted to get revenge.
Following Bobby Roberts announced his retirement from wrestling after suffering a broken neck, Grayson mocked the former tag champion for being unable to get the revenge he so badly wanted. That was until Roberts’ tag championship partner Lewis Girvan made his return and took out the “King”!
Grayson ends 2017 as champion, though flat on his back with “the best young wrestler in the world” raising the Alpha Omega Championship above his head.
Now we start 2018 with a huge match that will be undoubtedly Grayson’s biggest threat wrestling-wise, as the much more technically proficient Girvan is coming for revenge and the Alpha Omega title.
It’s Girvan v Grayson at Outbreak.
