A chaotic night at The Carleton started off with Interim Alpha Male Evil Lewis and former Alpha Male Stallion announcing that Paul Malen – due to challenge for the tag team titles alongside Alton Thorne – had been attacked and would be unable to compete tonight. Alton Thorne had already contacted Alpha Omega and informed them he would still be challenging for the belts but with a different partner.
Stallion went on to draw the names for the 6 man War on the Shore match. It was quite a shock when fan favourites Joey Hayes and Sexy Kev were drawn alongside surprise names Shaun Vasey and Rikki Kray, as well as much maligned Mr Williams and “Fantastic” Matt Fox.
The biggest shock was when Sam Gradwell – who believes he should have received a title shot a long time ago – wasn’t included in the match. He came out to express his displeasure at this directly to the man he deems responsible, Evil Lewis.
As Lewis was trying to explain the random draw, both men were interrupted by the returning group of Felony, Barricade and Andre Dekker, collectively known as HellBound!
HellBound surrounded the ring, as an irate Gradwell dared them to step in the ring and face him, Ryan Hunter ran out to even the odds!
Evil Lewis then saw an ideal opportunity as none of the four men were in the War on the Shore match, to make an impromptu tag team match right there and then!
HellBound displayed a new aggressiveness never seen before from both men, which was proving near impossible for the thrown together team of Gradwell and Hunter to overcome, though young Ryan fought hard to get Gradwell in the match and Sam seemed to be building momentum, until there was a miscommunication between Sam and Ryan over who was the legal man. This distraction caused Ryan to get hit by HellBound’s finish for the 1, 2, 3.
Following the match Sam Gradwell, while upset with the loss, seemed to take it well and helped Hunter to his feet. Before attacking the rookie! Gradwell shouted out “I’m better than this” before leaving a beaten and battered Hunter in the ring.
Next up was the 6 man War on the Shore elimination match. Where the winner would be guaranteed a shot at the Alpha Omega UK Championship.
The two men starting the match off were “Fantastic” Matt Fox and Mr Big Shaun Vasey.
Fox seemed to be determined to anger the big man, getting right in his face and telling him how FAN….TASTIC Fox was. Until Vasey hit a big boot and pinned him immediately, eliminating him from the match within the first minute!
HellBound were back out to prove that when they say “no-one is safe” they mean it, as they came out and caused Mr Big to be eliminated by a very opportunistic Mr Williams. Vasey wasn’t taking this lying down however as he chased after the demonic group.
Williams looked in top form – albeit whilst bending the rules – as he hit a low blow on Rikki Kray. He followed this up with a roll up to eliminate the Grafter.
Williams was getting cocky having eliminated two big threats from the match, but then he himself was distracted as E-Bomb came out to confront the tyrannical teacher. Williams hurled abuse at the masked sensation before turning right into a JKO from Joey Hayes and being eliminated himself.
This left the two favourites left standing with a title shot in the balance, as Sexy Kev and Joey Hayes went hold for hold exchanging quick pin attempts in search of catching each other out and getting the W. In the end, Joey hit a JKO out of nowhere for the win!
Joey now has one more shot at becoming Alpha Omega Champion. But will he be facing his nemesis King Grayson, or his best friend Danny Hope?
Next we welcomed the hardest working man in British Wrestling, the UK’s #1 Cameraman Tony Knox into the Morecambe Wrestling Hall of Fame. With a heartwarming video package featuring kind words from veterans and rookies alike mentioning how Tony had influenced their careers. It was a fitting induction for a great man.
Toni Storm made her return to Morecambe after a long absence, and took to the mic to point out to everyone that during her time away, Lana had achieved a lot, defeating her rival Viper and becoming AOWUK champion. But Toni believes she had done more. Winning titles in world class promotions in Japan and becoming in her opinion the best female wrestler on the planet.
Storm would do a lot to back her claim up as she took it to the champion, dominating large portions of the match. But just as Lana had shown her new ruthlessness against Xia, here she showcased a new level of determination and endurance as she continually fought back and eventually got the win over Storm in a fantastic match.
Stallion mentioned Craig Kollins’ absence as Alpha Omega’s doctor hasn’t cleared him for competition in Morecambe ever since the attack at the hands of the unknown assailant. It seemed someone’s ears were burning as a video played on screen highlighting footage from Craig’s first match in Morecambe with the message “I’ve ALWAYS been watching, Mr Kollins” This man clearly wants to rub it in that he has halted Craig’s career in it’s tracks!
Dean MacManus made his entrance for his scheduled match against Ryan Hunter. But after the beating Ryan took at the hands of HellBound and Sm Gradwell, MacManus made the executive decision that Hunter would forfeit and Dean was the winner by default.
This clearly wasn’t the case as Ryan made his way out! Battered, bruised and beaten, but refusing to forfeit.
Hunter was clearly no match for MacManus’ size and brute strength, especially after the beating he took earlier. No-one told Ryan though as he put in a gutsy performance and almost pulled off the upset before MacManus grabbed a handful of tights to “earn” the victory.
Solar Power awaited their opponents for their tag title defense. Alton Thorne came out, accompanied by Barricade, Andre Dekker and Felony! It appears as though Alton Thorne has joined HellBound!
The pairing of Alton Thorne and Barricade looked like a well oiled machine straight from the off, isolating Solar and keeping Cyanide from entering the match at all costs. This looked like a solid strategy until Solar fought back against both men and got the tag to the Toxic Terror. Cyanide showed his dominance and looked on his way to ending the match until Andre Dekker ran in and attacked the tag champions, causing a disqualification. Big Sexxxy also joined in on the fight looking for revenge on HellBound and the ring was filled with bodies fighting! HellBound retreated as Big Sexxxy and Solar Power stood tall in the ring.
The self proclaimed “First Lady of Morecambe Wrestling” Serenity returned to Alpha Omega to be the special guest drawing the world famous Morecambe Raffle. Serenity took this moment to demand that women’s champion Lana Austin face her in the ring instead! After being tols thet Lana was receiving medical attention after her earlier title defence, Serenity stated “She’s running scared” and left angrily.
The main event saw King Ryan Grayson defending the Alpha Omega Championship against Delicious Danny Hope. In a match 3 years in the making.
Danny was more fired up than ever before, as he looked to finally become champion and put Grayson in his place once and for all. Grayson’s loyal Jester once again got involved, causing Joey Hayes to run down and even the odds. As Jester looked to throw powder into Danny’s eyes, Hope ducked and Joey got a faceful of powder, blinding him!
Danny’s empathy for his partner caused him to take his eyes off the ball for a split second, checking on Joey. This was all the opportunity Grayson needed to hit the Royal Decree and pick up the victory.
Danny and Joey were both livid with what happened, almost mirroring what had happened at Love & War. And Danny was overheard asking Joey “did you do that on purpose?”. Hopefully there’s no basis for this argument and the two best friends can sort it out quickly.
Grayson, as always was a sore winner. He even went as far as to demand Stallion award him the title, and re-announce him as the winner. Grayson went on to berate Stallion, with his loyal Jester getting right in Stallion’s face! There was only so much the former Alpha Male could take as he KO’d the jester with a huger right hand.
Stallion grabbed the microphone and dared Grayson to face him like a man, one on one in the ring!
Alpha Male Evil Lewis reappeared and decided that this was a great idea. And at Morecambe Mayhem June 10th King Ryan Grayson will go one on one with Stallion in a STREET FIGHT!
