At Remember Remember, Ricky J McKenzie ended a year long rivalry with James Drake.
Following the match, McKenzie realised his focus should be back where he feels he belongs, right at the top, with the Alpha Omega Championship.
With this in mind, Ricky was looking forward to getting a title shot – and with his win/loss record over 2016, few could argue with his credentials as #1 contender – but after King Grayson’s actions, the title picture became a whole lot more convoluted.
With Grayson as champion, Joey Hayes was granted the first shot at the self appointed King. Leaving RJM without an opponent for Love & War.
But RJM – part of the inaugural WWE British Championship tournament – has taken matters into his own hands and issued an open challenge.
RJM stated: “Any member of the Alpha Omega roster that wants to take me on, show up at Love & War on February 11th and let’s see what you’re made of”
It appeared as though Craig Kollins’ injury had handed RJM a golden opportunity to defeat the self proclaimed “real #1 contender” Chris Ridgeway and get the title shot he craves so much.
But after Ridgeway himself bailed from facing RJM, Ricky was left yet again with no opponent for February 11th.
We can reveal that one of the North-West’s finest wrestlers has demanded that he face RJM in his Alpha Omega debut. And this is a competitor that has title aspirations of his own, and won’t let RJM stand in his way of becoming champion.
This mystery opponent will be revealed in the near future, but until then we can only promise that this stands to be one hell of a battle.
